I walk a lot when playing golf. And I can say, after about a dozen rounds, this shoe has been problematic for me. Here’s the problem: they built in this “heel-grabber” cushion piece that is too hard and will not wear down, even after a dozen or so rounds. I know this was probably done on purpose, to make the shoe fit snugly overall at the back, but the problem is that it is not consistent enough around the heel that unless you have a very padded heel area already naturally, you will get calloused very easily – as I did. Now every time I wear it I have to put on 3 layers of band-aids just to stop the heel piece from causing a pain. The shoe is also on the heavy side, and I honestly do think that the shoe is not built for walking for that reason – why did it have to be so heavy? Even with the newly thinner sole, it still is quite heavy. It has great stability as advertised and the water-proofing is good, but they made a mistake with the heel piece. To compare, if you put on the Tour 360 Limited, the heel area is a little more flat and not as hard or grabby – much more comfortable. Of course, that shoe is $250 compared to the $180 of this shoe. Would it have been worthwhile to buy the more expensive one? Perhaps yes, if you are a walker like me who does not ride in carts much. Also – I think the ThinTech is not as well cushioned as they imagined – a symptom of trying to make it thinner – and I already feel the left foot is getting flatter from my weight transfer of the swing. The waterproofing may last 2 years – the sole itself will not – and I feel silly that I have to think about putting pads in there!
